Wide Bike Shoes Road Cycling Shoes/Pedals - Shimano SPD, SPD-SL, Or LOOK?

Road Cycling Shoes/Pedals - Shimano SPD, SPD-SL, or LOOK? - wide bike shoes

I bought a road bike (bicycle actually) for the triathlon and bought shoes and pedals. I was wondering if anyone had opinions on the 3 major brand / type of pedals: SPD, SPD-SL, LOOK.

At the moment I am in favor of Shimano SPD-SL in the largest area and am of course the reputation of Shimano products. I know next to nothing to see, but not quite, because he can about this great product ignorant.

With your thoughts on the pedals, please provide information about shoes, if available.

My price range is about $ 100 on pedals / cleats, maybe 150-200 for shoes.

Thank you.

I use my bike shoes SPD now triathlon. This shoe was created when I purchased with my bike and pursuit driving. I have not changed really going to build their entry into the triathlon last year, I need to. The only advantage of my current computer, "It is easier to run in shoes shoes mountain road.

However, triathletes often do not go to their cycling shoes. \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ U0026lt; == (previous emphasis) The process of leaving their shoes on their bikes. Running barefoot outside the transition area and the erection of and step into your shoes while driving. Also bind to the dismantling, the shoes in front of the drop zone and dismantling barefoot (or socks, if necessary), and then lead back into the transition area, without shoes.

If your new triathlon, the transitional period did not sound so important to you but 4 minutes T1 (transition1 the change means swimming, cycling) contributes to the very second. Become an expert and practice their T1 and T2 can be reduced by the General Assembly, at up to 5 minutesSprint distance.

In short, appearance or SPD-SL systems are a long way to go. I do not know who is using the SPD-SL and the display system seems to be the best option in the kind of scenes that I'm going.

For me, when I finally (for the tri shoes soon), I go with the cheaper LOOK pedals (gray to around $ 80) and a shoe tri-band, but the tape 3, I have now (performance bike. Com Lake Tri Price brand shoes $ 60) at the moment. I'm going to go cheap here, because the team triathlon Scratch and Dent, make no matter how convenient. Keep your Sidi Espensen real off-road rides for training.

If the price is not objective, the lower carbon tri shoes .. $ 200 to 300 brands, such as Shimin, Sidi, Pearl Izumi, each master .. are the better choice because they are lighter. In a triathlon, lighter is better, so that all carbon is the best you can get, but also expensive.

Hope this helps

Because the way you, you might want to go with a tri-specific shoe is designed for quick transitions, which is a variant of the old system, the footrest.

If you sold on clipless search. Wikipedia has been around a long time. I do not know if they were the first, but were my first. I also have a Shimano pedal crank is a look not only at the show.

I have three pairs of shoes, a lake, originally off a Wikipedia knock-back in the day. Do not face the harshness of the heavy training and should know how many European design for its size.

I also have two pairs of Sidi and they're awesome. Old school, but hard as a board. They do well for all types of weather and I wear boots over them in winter, or burning it to weather. One of my kind of shoes the company has a number of blocks, a floating bit has a lot of time getting used to, but now I'm having trouble back in my series of curves, n do not have much game.

With mSpend Oney, who is ready, you can get almost anything you want. It is just about the election. Therein lies the problem.

Goals Good luck with your tri!

Between the SPD and SPD-R, you'll want to SPD-L

But if you want to hear my opinion, I rather recommend Speedplay pedals. After thousands of miles of bike my knees, and 2 of my friends hurt me a little shorter on the games. We went to Speedplay pedals and knee pain is gone.

Have fun in Triathlon
